Apprenticeship Grant For Employers
To Be Eligible
The UK Government have increased their apprenticeship grant for employers 2021 from the 1st April 2021 to the 30th September, employers will receive £3,000 for new apprentices of any age.
New apprentices that joined your business before 1st April 2021 (between August 2020 and 31st March 2021) you will receive £2,000 for a 16 to 24 year olds and £1,500 for 25 years and over (these earlier ones need to be applied for by the 31st May 2021).
What Can You Use The Payment For?
This is different to the apprenticeship levy fund, you can use the government grant to support your organisation. For example wages, apprenticeship travel or uniforms – you will not need to pay this back.
How To Apply
- To apply you must have first added a new apprentice to your apprenticeship service account.

When Will I Get Paid For My Apprenticeship Grant?
After the government have verified your organisation and finance details, this could potentially be 3 months and come in 2 instalments for each apprentice.
- First payment: 90 days after apprentice starts
- Second payment: 365 days after apprenticeship starts
